Resident Assistant
Job Overview
We are seeking a Resident Assistant/Home Health Aide to provide personal care and health-related services to senior residents at Meadow Woods in Bloomington, MN. No CNA certification is required unless under 18 years old. The position is part-time, working 20 hours every two weeks, evenings, and every other weekend.
About the Role
Meadow Woods is part of the Martin Luther Campus Senior Community, located near the Mall of America and the Minnesota River Bluffs. The community offers assisted living, independent living, and memory care options in East Bloomington, MN. Staff encourage participation in regular activities and lifelong learning programs.
Responsibilities
- Assists residents with personal cares including bathing, showering, foot and fingernail care, shaving, dressing, hair care, feeding, toileting, and transfers.
- Provides health-related services under the direction of the Registered Nurse, such as assisting with treatments, administering medication, taking vital signs, and performing specified home services.
- Performs laundry and cleaning tasks according to schedule.
- Facilitates resident social and recreational activities as assigned.
- Observes residents and reports changes in their condition to appropriate staff.
- Notifies staff of any potential mistreatment concerns and responds to emergencies.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using technology (computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines).
- If under 18, must be registered with the MN NA and the facility must manage any restrictions preventing independent operation of a mechanical lift or administration of medications.
