GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The resident advisor provides support and general supervision, oversees the therapeutic milieu and day-to-day functioning of our clients while representing the agency in a positive light. Resident advisors, with support from the clinical treatment team, maintain a safe and healthy therapeutic environment. This is an awake position that provides staff coverage during all shifts including holidays; twenty-four hours a day seven days a week.
I. Support and supervise residents in the execution of their daily activity plans
- Schedule and assist with nutritious meals for residents.
- Monitor and assist with residents' grooming and personal hygiene.
- Manage daily housekeeping tasks for residents.
- Coordinate medical care needs, including administering medication.
- Maintain consistency and continuity of individual treatment programs.
- Create and maintain a stable and therapeutic environment.
- Maintain positive relationships with all client providers.

II. Maintain a safe, harm-free environment for all residents
- Prevent and manage aggressive behaviors among residents.
- Monitor visitor behavior and report unauthorized individuals.

III. Transport residents to various activities

V. Complete daily and monthly reports and paperwork
- Accurately and timely complete daily and monthly reports.

VI. Attend staff meetings and participate in training programs

Requirements
- An Associate’s Degree in a human service field and relevant experience.
- Ability to relate to a variety of people and situations.
- Positive role model and representation of cultural and moral values.
- Familiarity with Trauma Theory, Female Development, Female-Responsive principals, and relational strength-based approaches.
