About the Role
This position provides direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of education and departmental activities, including administrative support to the General Psychiatry Residency Program Director, Associate Program Director, and Chief Resident(s). It involves educational coordination between attending physicians, 28 to 30 General Psychiatry residents, and institutional and regulatory administrative offices.
Responsibilities
- Ensure house staff compliance with established policies and procedures; manage/coordinate ACGME accreditation site visits for the direct department program.
- Coordinate PRITE examination and provide the Program Director with tracking and reports for collaboration between core residency and subspecialty fellowship programs.
- Maintain web-based ACGME accreditation surveys, compile and submit reports, and milestone evaluations to ACGME and other professional organizations.
- Oversee and monitor housestaff recruitment budget, including projections of future needs and justification for additional funding.
- Complete and coordinate documentation and credentialing for all graduate medical education training within the department; maintain all house staff personnel records, including confidential evaluations.
- Serve as liaison between campus offices, affiliated hospitals, program directors, and hospital staff.
- Maintain resident records of training on the ABPN.
- Coordinate all social functions and special events, including welcome breakfasts, resident retreats, graduation, and GME-related projects.
- Review residency applications for completeness, screen applicants for Program Director review, and arrange interviews and accommodations.
- Use ERAS software to manage residency applications and compile reports.
- Recruit and schedule faculty for the interview process; compile recruitment brochures and printed materials.
- Communicate with incoming residents to ensure compliance with the credentialing process and collect required documentation for the GME office.
- Ensure all residents are credentialed annually and update training requirements for outgoing residents.
- Prepare and submit GME Duty Hour Reports monthly; prepare VA work schedules, calendars, and invoices.
- Prepare Georgia Board for Physician Workforce monthly reports.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, record and maintain meeting minutes, and develop reports for the direct department committee.
- Prepare written reports and correspondence for the Program Director relative to the residency program; implement policies developed by the direct department.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years of professional or administrative experience, including a minimum of 2 years of educational program experience or similar.
- OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and 7 years of professional or administrative experience, including a minimum of 4 years of educational program experience or similar.
- OR High school diploma or GED and 10 years of professional or administrative experience, including a minimum of 6 years of educational program experience or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of four years of directly relevant educational program experience.
- Previous experience in Graduate Medical Education administration; knowledge of ERAS and One45 applications.

Pay
Pay Band: 9. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint).
