About the Role

Oversees and facilitates the Nurse Residency Program following established standards and expectations. Focuses on continuing professional development and education for nurses in their first year as a nurse. Responsibilities include developing educational programs and processes to promote professional development for nurses throughout the organization, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and fostering a personal commitment to overall organizational success.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and revises curriculum for the Nurse Residency Program and transition to practice programs.
  • Implements and facilitates the Nurse Residency Program, including planning speakers, reserving space, and informing learners of dates and locations.
  • Evaluates the outcomes of the Nurse Residency Program using data collection methods consistent with Vizient.
  • Routinely shares outcome data with key stakeholders and advisory committee.
  • Revises the Nurse Residency program based on feedback from stakeholders and literature.
  • Serves as a strong role model in professional practice, building robust relationships with staff and other departments, effective communications, appropriate resource utilization, and sound planning skills.
  • Provides guidance to residents regarding orientation and transition to practice, building a sense of pride in employees and promoting good morale.
  • Guides resident professional development through mentoring, coaching, and education.
  • Participates in the formulation of nursing policies and goals when appropriate.
  • Provides feedback to residents and managers regarding professional practice issues identified.

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Master's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience (Required)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania

Schedule

Hours include: 8:00 AM - 4:40 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
