Overview
CDS Monarch is an organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role involves advocating for residents, supervising staff, and ensuring all needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an advocate for each resident, ensuring all needs are met and rights are protected.
- Assigns Residence Counselor for the role of Advocate and ensures Advocate responsibilities are met.
- Coordinates with assigned LPN for health care and other appointments, and transports as necessary.
- Serves as the designated on-site supervisor for the individual’s financial accounts and spending.
- Completes necessary steps to obtain and maintain each resident’s personal income (SSI, SSA, etc.).
- Maintains up-to-date records on each individual, including flow sheets, behavior data sheets, program travel logs, progress data reports, Residential Habilitation Plans, and attendance records.
- Serves as the primary supervisor during absences of regular and relief staff.
- Maintains staffing schedules, coordinates time off authorization, and verifies time sheets.
- Conducts quality assurance reviews of systems and staff, and provides performance appraisals.
- Coordinates and assures all required training, screens and interviews applicants, and plans and facilitates team meetings.
- Participates in individual movement processes, including referrals, admissions, placement, discharge, and re-determination of funds.
- Maintains home maintenance, including coordination with the Agency Maintenance Department or securing outside bids and services as needed.
- Ensures nurturing needs are met, including grocery shopping, menu planning, household tasks, and acts as administrator on duty.
Essential Academic and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services related field with at least one year experience with MRDD or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
- Reliable vehicle to transport service recipients.
- The ability to read, analyze, present information to groups, and solve practical problems.

The listed salary range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The offered salary will be determined by: Applicant qualifications and experience, education, position specific licensing/training and departmental budgets.
