Facility Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and safety-driven Facility Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a culture rooted in safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
Lead, coach, and develop a diverse workforce across varying backgrounds, including language, culture, race, gender, and age.
Balance accountability and empathy—drive performance standards without creating a punitive environment.
Implement strategies to attract, engage, and retain talent in a competitive labor market.
Promote open communication and ensure team members feel valued and heard.
Operations & Facility Management
Oversee daily facility operations, including ammonia refrigeration systems, utilities, maintenance, and infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA, PSM (Process Safety Management), and local/state regulations.
Lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Serve as the primary point of contact during emergency response situations related to refrigeration or facility operations.
Continuously evaluate and optimize operational performance and safety processes.
Strategic Planning & Projects
Collaborate cross-functionally on facility improvement projects, expansions, and upgrades.
Develop forecasts for equipment lifecycle, capital expenditures, and operational needs.
Lead project planning, budgeting, and cost estimation efforts.
Identify opportunities for efficiency, sustainability, and cost savings.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of technical experience in facility or plant operations.
At least 2 years of experience as a manager (not a supervisor) with direct people leadership responsibility.
Demonstrated knowledge of PSM, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
Proven ability to lead teams in safety-critical environments.
Preferred:
RETA certification (CARO, CIRO) or equivalent.
Experience in food processing, cold storage, or industrial manufacturing environments.
Bilingual capabilities (a plus given workforce diversity).
