Residence Manager

About the role

The Manager oversees the daily operations of the residential facility, focusing on staff supervision, treatment planning, and maintaining the physical plant to ensure quality services for emotionally disabled adults. The role also involves supporting residents, attending meetings, communicating with external programs, managing medication, and ensuring safety.

Responsibilities

• Support residents by creating a comfortable home environment.
• Ensure adequate staffing coverage and communicate schedules to staff.
• Monitor and document daily activities, including house logs and behavioral support plans.
• Attend and participate in meetings with schools and treatment programs.
• Manage clothing inventories and monitor medication distribution.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals on medical issues and assist with scheduling appointments.
• Document interactions with schools, treatment programs, and families.
• Conduct fire drills and inform clinical teams about needed supplies.
• Adhere to agency policies and attend meetings as assigned.
• Maintain positive relationships with team members and address staff performance issues.
• Inform relevant parties of consumer medical concerns and behavioral changes.
• Assume responsibilities during staff shortages to maintain a safe environment.
• Train new employees and handle other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related human service field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with developmentally disabled populations, preferably in a residential or health-related setting.
• A minimum of 3 years of administrative/managerial experience with emotionally disabled populations.
• Successfully complete a Medication Administration Course within 90 days of employment.
• Excellent management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated competency in written, verbal, and computational skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer usage and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working with the CRP population is preferred.
• QDIP Certification is preferred.
• A valid NYS Driver’s License is required.
• Ability and willingness to obtain certification in SCIPR.

Qualifications
