About the role
The Residential Living Assistant (also known as Flex Transitional Living Assistant - FTLA) at Milton Hershey School supervises and mentors high school seniors, preparing them for independent living after graduation.
Responsibilities
- Teach and role-model life skills including self-responsibility, goal setting, time management, personal finance, healthy relationships and more.
- Create and supervise developmental and recreational activities.
- Accompany students to Sunday chapel services.
- Collaborate with staff to continually enhance the program.
- Provide coverage in student homes as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing; ability to become certified to drive a 9-passenger van.
- Experience mentoring, teaching, or coaching youth.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to proactively problem-solve, influence, and collaborate.
- Strong organizational skills, while also maintaining a high degree of flexibility.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google applications, and social media platforms.
Requirements
- Must demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
- Additional requirements for live-in role: occupancy limited to the employee and, if applicable, their legally married spouse; no overnight guests, smoking, or weapons allowed; no alcohol consumption while on duty.
Pay
Minimum annual salary of $48,799.
Schedule
Year-round position with a schedule of 9 consecutive workdays followed by 3 days off.
