Residence Hall Director
Full time, professional, academic staff live-in position for one academic year. This is an emergency hire for the current academic year; the successful candidate may apply for the permanent position search to be conducted in the spring.
About the role
The Residence Hall Director oversees the overall operation of a residence hall, including supervision of undergraduate resident assistants and front desk staff. Responsibilities span programming, discipline, counseling, staff selection and training, advising hall government, committee work, supervision of front desk operations (including food and beverage sales), and coordination of housekeeping and maintenance services.
Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to crisis and student conduct situations according to established policies and procedures
- Supervise day-to-day activities of students and/or professional staff; assist with personnel management including hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation
- Serve as the main point of contact for resident support, providing mediation and resolution of personal and facility issues
- Plan, implement, and evaluate student programs and initiatives for residence life
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience in residence halls
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in student personnel or related field
- Supervision experience
- Hall leadership experience
