As a Senior Reserving Actuary at Akur8, you will influence the future of reserving using cutting-edge technology in the insurance industry and have a visible effect on the product roadmap of one of the world’s foremost insurtech companies. This position interacts with every team at Akur8—Sales, Product, R&D, Marketing, Engineering, and Leadership—as a subject matter expert and translator between departments, insurance language, actuaries, and clients. Externally, you will work with client contacts such as Chief Actuaries, Heads of Reserving, Actuaries, consulting partners, and other reserving professionals.

This role is hybrid or remote (with approximately 5 days of travel per month) for someone based in the Eastern or Central time zones of the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead proof of concepts and demos of Akur8 reserving solutions: quickly identify key requirements of prospects and adapt presentations to address topics for key stakeholders. Design proof of concepts that address questions on the applicability of Akur8 software to reserving processes.
• Provide product roadmap guidance: offer industry expertise to the product team as they build the roadmap for the next-generation reserving product. Review and recommend designs and workflows to ensure Akur8’s reserving software remains best-in-class.
• Client training and implementation: lead customized onboarding experiences, ensure seamless software adoption, and provide continuous support.
• Industry thought leadership: present at industry conferences and Akur8 Academy webinars to advance Akur8’s thought leadership in the insurance industry.
• Client advocacy: serve as the client’s advocate within Akur8, gathering and sharing feedback with sales and product teams to support ongoing improvement.
• Solution mastery: demonstrate a solid understanding of accepted insurance finance and actuarial calculations alongside bespoke reserving analysis concepts. Master common outputs and reporting needs of reserve analysis.
• Training and support for solution partners: develop and maintain strong relationships with delivery partners (key consulting and technology firms) to assist in training and support for mutual clients.

Requirements

• ACAS or FCAS credentials.
• 5+ years of experience with P&C reserving, either in an Actuarial department or in a Consulting role.
• 1+ year(s) of experience using either Arius or ResQ reserving solutions.
• Deep knowledge of enterprise P&C reserving practices, with the credibility to represent Akur8 in discussions with experienced reserving actuaries.
• Experience using or building actuarial solutions, with the ability to lead software implementations.
• Strong understanding of insurance reserving processes and how they translate into client requirements.
• Strong client management and communication skills, including the ability to provide strategic guidance and explain how Akur8 addresses client needs.
• Experience managing projects across management, IT, and analyst teams.
• Willingness to travel approximately 5 working days per month for internal meetings, client engagements, and industry events.
• Native-level fluency in English.
