Job Summary

Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad is currently accepting applications for detail-oriented Reservation Agents to assist customers with their booking needs.

Responsibilities

• Answer customer questions and make travel suggestions
• Book excursion tickets and adjust reservations
• Manage cancellations, gift card and in-house credit issuance
• Complete sales transactions by receiving payment
• Conduct tours and assist guests as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in sales or public relations, preferably in the hospitality or travel industries
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Data entry experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow established protocols
• Strong communication skills with the ability to handle conflict effectively
• Good listener with the ability to make quick and informed decisions
• Positive personality and courteous, professional attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

• Knowledgeable about current deals, savings, and options available to customers
• Ability to upsell when appropriate
• Knowledge of railroad excursions, classes of service, and operating schedules
• Ability to remain knowledgeable about all aspects of railroad excursions
• Ability to manage voicemails, informational emails, and follow up on reservations
• Ability to maintain a clean and tidy workspace
