About the role
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) seeks a Reservation Assistant to join the Reservations team at the Billy Graham Training Center (BGTC) at the Cove. This position is located in Asheville, North Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Courteously answers telephone calls
- Changes or cancels guest reservations
- Processes credit card payments
- Answers telephone inquiries about BGTC
- Implements BGTC policies and procedures as they relate to guest reservations including cancellations or transfers or reservations, and refunds for forfeiture of payments
- Enters and maintains guest database information including inquiries, seminar and lodging reservations, financial records, and demographic and marketing information
- Is responsible for new guest check-in and payment
- Prepares reservation summaries and financial reports
Requirements
- Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
- Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
- Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits
- Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
- Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence
Skills and Knowledge
- High School graduate, or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially phone and email
- Good typing skills 40 wpm
- Knowledge of Visual One property management software and Windows operating system
- Competent using spreadsheet, word processing and database software
- Able to work independently
- Commitment to hospitality and excellence
- Able to assess and act on BGTC policies and procedures without supervision
Physical/Mental Demands
- Sit at workstation for extended periods of time answering phones and entering data
- Stand at registration desk for extended periods of time during guest check-in
- Able to lift (20 lbs)
- Possesses full range of motion including bending, stretching, lifting, reaching
- Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Benefits Summary
Part-time employees working at least 20 hours and fewer than 30 hours each week, are eligible for partial benefits.
