Researcher - Spinal Cord & Brain Injury Faculty
Job Summary
The Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center (SCoBIRC) at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in neurotrauma research. The position is open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Professor), and postdoctoral fellows or early-career investigators are encouraged to apply. Extramural funding is not required for appointment, although prior success with training or foundation awards (e.g., F30, F31, F32, AHA) is desirable. We seek candidates whose research focuses on traumatic brain injury (TBI) or spinal cord injury (SCI). Areas of particular interest include mechanistic or translational research in metabolism, autonomic systems, glia, inflammation, neural repair, plasticity, regeneration, chronic recovery, or post-traumatic epilepsy. Competitive start-up funds and appropriate laboratory space will be provided. SCoBIRC benefits from a long-standing commitment by the University of Kentucky and the Commonwealth of Kentucky to translational research in TBI and SCI, offering exceptional resources and a highly collaborative environment. Applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree and are expected to develop and sustain an externally funded research program that complements and enhances the Center’s strengths in neurotrauma.
