Researcher - Spinal Cord & Brain Injury Faculty

About the role
The Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center (SCoBIRC) is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position focused on neurotrauma research. While extramural funding is not required at the time of appointment, prior success with training or foundation awards (e.g., F30, F31, F32, AHA) is desirable. The center is particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses on traumatic brain injury (TBI) or spinal cord injury (SCI), including mechanistic or translational research in areas such as:
- Metabolism
- Autonomic systems
- Glia and inflammation
- Neural repair, plasticity, or regeneration
- Chronic recovery or post-traumatic epilepsy
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain an externally funded research program
- Complement and enhance SCoBIRC’s strengths in neurotrauma
- Supervise students, postdocs, or research staff as applicable
- Collaborate within a highly supportive and translational research environment
Qualifications
- Required: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree
- Preferred: Experience with foundation or training awards (e.g., F30, F31, F32, AHA)
