Researcher/ Senior Researcher - Durbin Laboratory
for sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. We must not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID etc. Remove boilerplate. Must preserve all substantive info.
Let's parse the posting.
Content:
- Intro paragraph: "Join our Team! The Durbin Laboratory within the Department of Oncology is seeking a highly motivated Researcher or Senior Researcher to join our team for a two-year position focused on the epigenetic regulation of transcription in cancer. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented scientist who is passionate about biomedical research and eager to contribute to groundbreaking discoveries in pediatric cancer biology. In this role, you will utilize state-of-the-art approaches in murine modeling, molecular biology, cell biology, and functional genomics to investigate the transcriptional and chromatin-based mechanisms that drive aggressive cancers. Working within a highly collaborative research environment, you will help develop and characterize in vivo models of human disease while contributing to innovative therapeutic discovery efforts."
- "About The Durbin Laboratory" paragraph: description.
- "Ideal Candidate Profile" bullet list: Bachelor's degree..., Prior experience..., Hands-on experience..., Strong interest..., Excellent organizational..., Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including: western blotting, molecular cloning, and functional genomics technique.
- "Job Responsibilities:" list: Performs laboratory experiments..., Sets up protocols..., Accurately records..., Prepares and reports results..., May provide guidance..., Performs other related duties..., Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- "Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required." Then "Senior Researcher Minimum Experience: Two (2) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required. No experience is required with a Master's degree." "Researcher Minimum Experience: No experience required"
- "Why Join Us?" paragraph: opportunity to contribute..., work alongside leading scientists..., gain exposure..., play meaningful role...
- "Compensation" paragraph: includes salary range $60,320 - $105,040 per year.
- "Explore our exceptional benefits!" paragraph: mentions benefits but not specifics? It says "We are committed to a human-centered hiring experience. Technology may support portions of our process, but recruiting decisions involve human review and engagement. Learn more about our approach to AI." No specific benefits listed. So we should not create Benefits section unless specific benefits listed. There's no list of benefits like health insurance etc. So we skip Benefits.
- "St. Jude is an Equal Opportunity Employer No Search Firms ..." boilerplate to remove.
- Also "Please do not call or email." etc.
Thus sections we have:
- About the role (maybe combine intro and About The Durbin Laboratory? The instruction: use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we need to decide which sections to include based on content.
We have content that could map to:
- About the role: could be the introductory paragraph describing the role and lab? Or "About The Durbin Laboratory" could be separate but we can combine into About the role.
- Responsibilities: the Job Responsibilities list.
- Requirements: maybe Minimum Education and Experience details.
- Qualifications: maybe Ideal Candidate Profile (education, experience, skills). But we have both Requirements and Qualifications; we need to decide which to include. The instruction says prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. We could combine Requirements and Qualifications into one section? But they are distinct headings. We could include both if they have substantive content. Let's see:
Requirements: Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree required. Senior Researcher Minimum Experience: 2 years post-degree; no experience required with Master's. Researcher Minimum Experience: No experience required.
Qualifications: Ideal Candidate Profile includes Bachelor's degree, prior experience with rodent models, hands-on experience, strong interest, excellent organizational skills, proficiency in molecular biology techniques (western blot, cloning, functional genomics). That's more like qualifications/skills.
Skills: could be the proficiency list.
We could have sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Pay. Benefits omitted. Schedule omitted (no schedule info). Let's see if we have schedule: none.
Thus we will output:
About the role
About the role

About the role
Join our Team! Working within a highly collaborative research environment, you will help develop and characterize in vivo models of human disease while contributing to innovative therapeutic discovery efforts. The Durbin lab is interested in a broad, “multi-omics” approach to the epigenetically-coded processes that drive pediatric cancer. The primary research focus of the Durbin laboratory involves studying epigenetic determinants of gene regulation and transcriptional regulatory complexes in pediatric solid tumors to identify synergistic ways to target cancer cell growth. We use functional genomics, chemical biology and epigenomics to identify and characterize these dominant transcriptional regulatory complexes, their co-activators and co-repressors to define mechanistically-based strategies for pediatric solid tumor therapy.
Responsibilities
- Performs laboratory experiments independently using established techniques/protocols.
- Sets up protocols, trouble shoots experiments using new or modified laboratory techniques.
- Accurately records experimental procedures and data.
- Prepares and reports results/ data leading to posters, presentations or publications
- May provide guidance to entry-level employees.
- Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Requirements
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required. Senior Researcher Minimum Experience: Two (2) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required. No experience is required with a Master's degree. Researcher Minimum Experience: No experience required.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in cancer biology, epigenetics, and biomedical research.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Skills
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including: western blotting, molecular cloning, and functional genomics technique.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $60,320 - $105,040 per year for the role of Researcher/ Senior Researcher - Durbin Laboratory.
Check for any leftover boilerplate: we removed "Why Join Us?" paragraph? Actually we omitted that. The "Why Join Us?" paragraph is substantive: "This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at understanding and treating pediatric cancer. You will work alongside leading scientists, gain exposure to advanced technologies, and play a meaningful role in discoveries that have the potential to improve outcomes for children with cancer." That is substantive and could be included perhaps under About the role or a separate section like
