About the role

The Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time Research Scientist III to support Dr. Chorba's translational chemical biology laboratory. The position involves leading complex research projects to develop biochemical tools to study cardiometabolic disease and novel strategies to drug disease states.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, organization, and execution of multiple mechanistic research projects aligned with the lab’s scientific goals.
• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, including supervision and training of research staff.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret research data.
• Prepare publications and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Contribute to the preparation of grant proposals, progress reports, and regulatory submissions (e.g., IRB, IACUC).
• Maintain a collaborative, efficient, and compliant research environment.
