The Dennis Laboratory within the Department of Cell and Biological Systems at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Researcher. The laboratory aims to identify molecular mechanisms contributing to diabetic complications.

About the Role

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, capable of designing and executing hypothesis-based experiments, and proficient in molecular biology, biochemistry, and mouse genetics.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments to investigate the regulation of mTOR and the impact of post-translational modifications on eukaryotic translation initiation factors.
  • Conduct studies on redox signaling and mitochondrial dysfunction.
  • Prepare manuscripts based on research findings.

Requirements

  • A PhD in Biochemistry or a related field.
  • Significant experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and mouse genetic approaches.

Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Skills

  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually.
