Research Technician with UF/IFAS Program for Resource Efficient Communities

About the Role

This is a temporary, one-year, full-time (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday) position with the UF/IFAS Program for Resource Efficient Communities (PREC). The role involves supporting residential water conservation research projects through statistical analysis, data management, and collaboration with faculty and research staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct statistical analyses, including ANOVA and linear regression
• Perform data cleaning, organization, and basic data manipulation
• Apply data transformations and assist with interpretation of quantitative findings
• Prepare clear written descriptions of analytical methods for manuscripts and technical reports
• Assist with ongoing residential water conservation research projects
• Collaborate with faculty and research staff on project-related tasks
• Conduct literature reviews related to ongoing research

Required Qualifications

• Experience with ANOVA, linear regression, and basic data manipulation
• Familiarity with data transformations and related analytical techniques
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while meeting project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of residential water use and water conservation research
• Prior experience contributing to peer-reviewed journal articles or academic publications
• Experience working in a research or academic setting

Pay

$20/hour
