Position Responsibilities

  • Credits experimental testing of product performance at multiple stages of production.
  • Orders necessary materials to ensure timely completion of projects and ensures that all purchases are coded to the appropriate project budget.
  • Prepares all reagents necessary for experimentation.
  • Records experimental results, analyzes data, and provides summaries of results to senior team members for review and collaborative planning of future experimental paths.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation of experimental data/observations in electronic files and electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Maintains laboratory equipment and equipment records, including pH meters, incubators, and other laboratory instruments in compliance with 5S/GLP standards.
  • Assists senior team members in troubleshooting commercialized product performance.

Qualifications

  • Basic qualifications: BS degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biological Science or related field.
  • PREFERRED qualifications: Two to four years of research and/or laboratory experience, with a focus on executing experimental plans, preparing reagents, recording and analyzing data, and creating data summaries.
  • Knowledge of foodborne pathogens and spoilage organisms, and common microbiological culture media or diagnostic methods.
