Research Technician III - Lindell Lab & Henrickson Lab

What You Will Do

• Independently perform complex immunological assays using fresh and cryopreserved human biospecimens
• Conduct high-dimensional spectral flow cytometry–based phenotyping and functional assays
• Maintain rigorous experimental documentation, sample tracking, and quality control
• Work collaboratively across both laboratories while receiving direct mentorship from both PIs
• Contribute to project planning, data interpretation, and scientific manuscripts, depending on experience and interest
• Perform research procedures on experimental samples with minimal supervision
• Formulate and perform complex lab experiments and analyze/report the data
• Perform tasks that require knowledge of advanced techniques and lab equipment
• Perform advanced calculations and maintain appropriate log and lab notebooks
• Assists with planning specific research protocols and procedures
• Assists in development & troubleshooting of new techniques and ideas
• May be required to modify scientific methods and protocols (in conjunction with PI)
• Checks others' results for completeness and accuracy
• May be responsible for training and mentoring new staff
• Aids in the preparation of grants, journal articles, posters, and oral presentations
• Performs routine and non-routine tests/experiments as needed
• Maintains office, lab area, reagents, supplies, and equipment
• Performs routine maintenance on lab equipment
• Captures schedules of tests & procedures
• Attends courses, seminars, and lab meetings to expand knowledge of research and laboratory techniques
• Records results, organizes data, and maintains lab notebook in an organized manner
• Conducts literary searches as required

Scientific Environment and Focus

• Lindell Lab (Sepsis Immunobiology): Dr. Lindell studies immune dysregulation, immune recovery, and immunometabolic dysfunction in pediatric sepsis and MODS using high-dimensional immune profiling and systems immunology.
• Henrickson Lab (Inborn Errors of Immunity): Dr. Henrickson’s laboratory focuses on IEIs and primary immune regulatory disorders, particularly those involving JAK/STAT pathway dysregulation, integrating patient-derived samples, advanced cellular immunophenotyping, functional assays, and multi-omic approaches.

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED - Required
• Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of related classroom experience or successful completion of a technical training program (eg. Wistar, WPSI) and research laboratory experience - Required
• At least three (3) years of related classroom experience or successful completion of a technical training program (eg. Wistar, WPSI) and research laboratory experience - Preferred
