About the role

The Research Technician will manage participant recruitment and data collection and analysis. They will be expected to resolve study enrollment, task administration, and data collection and quality assurance issues across all phases of the project. When unusual conditions or situations arise, the individual will consult with the supervisor about what course to follow.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer electroencephalography (EEG) and fMRI scans for human subjects.
  • Managing and training undergraduate research assistants.
  • Participant recruitment, scheduling, and file management.
  • Process data, wrangling, and analysis.
  • Maintain contact and communication with young and older adult individuals from the community.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned (e.g., task troubleshooting).
  • Communicate daily with the other members of the lab (graduate students, post-docs, and undergraduate research assistants) to coordinate scheduling and train and work with undergraduates on various aspects of the project.
  • Communicate regularly with the PI and other research team staff members about research.
  • Collect behavioral and questionnaire data for a psychological research study.

  • Providing compensation to research participants as specified in the research protocol.

Working Conditions

  • Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
  • EEG scanning duties are performed on the Danforth campus.
  • Physical Effort: Typically sitting at a desk or table.
  • Equipment: Office equipment.

Education

  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, preferably in psychology or neuroscience.

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to make initial decisions about issues with participants that would cause them to not be able to complete a research study.
  • Ability to problem solve when problems arise in task administration.
  • Strong organizational, and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must get along well with graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate students working as research assistants within the lab.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative on array of projects and duties each day.

Education

  • Master's degree.

Salary Range

$16.92 - $26.44 / Hourly
