About the role
The McDonnell laboratory in the Pharmacology and Cancer Biology department at Duke University is seeking a full-time Research Technician II to join their tumor biology team. The lab focuses on translational research in breast and prostate cancer, offering a supportive environment for new graduates.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, breed, and genotype multiple transgenic mouse colonies
- Measure tumors and administer treatments to mice by various routes in efficacy studies
- Process harvested tissues using molecular techniques such as quantitative PCR, western blotting, histology, and immune-fluorescence imaging
- Prepare culture media, chemicals, reagents, and solutions
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- Prior experience in animal handling is preferred but not required.
- Excellent record-keeping and attention to detail are essential, with extensive record-keeping in Excel format.

Pay
The anticipated pay range for this position is USD $20.65 to USD $29.43 annually.
Schedule
Work will be performed on-site at Duke University, and occasional weekend or holiday work may be required.
