Research Technician II - Neuroscience
About the role
The lab of Dr. Adam Kepecs employs advanced tools from systems neuroscience such as electrophysiology and optogenetics to study neural circuits involved in decision-making. This position involves assisting with various research studies and experiments.
Responsibilities
- Aid in conducting research studies, experiments, and assays, including data collection and preparation of solutions.
- Enter and maintain data files related to research activities.
- Prepare tissue cultures, reagents, and conduct probe tests.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and keep records of laboratory and specimen conditions.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment according to established procedures.
- Contribute to general lab maintenance and cleaning tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Working Conditions
This role operates in a laboratory setting with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Physical ability to wear protective equipment and provide care to research animals is required.
Education
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
