About the role
The Dana Lab at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus is seeking a Research Technician to join our dynamic team. Our lab focuses on developing innovative tools and methods to study brain activity using advanced microscopy, lasers, and protein sensors. We investigate how brain circuits process information and evaluate novel neuroprotective therapies in preclinical models of neurodegenerative and neurological diseases.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for assigned experimental studies.
- Auxiliary in establishing and scheduling analyses.
- Conduct tests using a range of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Assemble experimental results for review by research staff.
- Prepare reagents and purify chemicals using chromatography, distillation, etc.
- Identify, separate, and quantify various substances.
- Accumulate data from analyses, prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables for presentation to Research Staff Supervisor.
- Potentially order laboratory supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment.
- Associate’s Degree in a laboratory science field and one year of experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a laboratory science field.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.

Pay
- Minimum hourly wage: $18.88
- Maximum hourly wage: $28.80
