Responsibilities
- Identify methodological problems in research protocol and implement modifications to optimize experimental results.
- Prepare and present written or oral progress reports concerning studies including assembly, organization, and interpretation of data.
- Absorb and assist in the design of experiments; may be responsible for the performance of individual research projects.
- Conduct literature reviews to assist in determining most suitable methods to be used in research.
- Assist in publication of results by proofreading, editing, and contributing ideas.
- May perform statistical analyses, write computer programs, or manage research database.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related scientific field such as biology, molecular biology, or computational biology.
- 2 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework.
- Experience in analysis of single-cell genomics data (preferred).
- Experience in working with high-performance computer environment (preferred).
- Experience in using source code management (e.g.: Git, GitHub) (preferred).
- Experience in machine learning and working with high throughput sequencing data (preferred).
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, R, Matlab (preferred).
- Ability to learn new tools and content quickly and independently.
- Strong communication skills.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is from $27.01 to $38.45 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
