About the role
The laboratory of Dr. William K.M. Lai, in the Department of Biochemistry at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, seeks a Research Technician to support the research of undergraduate and graduate students.
Responsibilities
- Perform experimental work under the direction of the principal investigator
- Support undergraduate and graduate students in their research
- Plan and perform experiments
- Order supplies and equipment
- Maintain lab equipment and supplies
- Order and maintain strain, sample and sequencing databases
Requirements
- Experience with basic molecular biology and biochemistry techniques
- Experience with next-generation sequencing library preparation, mammalian cell culture, protein synthesis, or basic data analysis is a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
