About the role

The laboratory of Dr. William K.M. Lai, in the Department of Biochemistry at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, seeks a Research Technician to support the research of undergraduate and graduate students.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experimental work under the direction of the principal investigator
  • Support undergraduate and graduate students in their research
  • Plan and perform experiments
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Maintain lab equipment and supplies
  • Order and maintain strain, sample and sequencing databases

Requirements

  • Experience with basic molecular biology and biochemistry techniques
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing library preparation, mammalian cell culture, protein synthesis, or basic data analysis is a plus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
