Research Laboratory Technician I

Responsibilities

• Routine animal care, including feeding schedules, system and alarm checks, basic health assessments, and water-quality monitoring.
• Day-to-day facility operations, such as routine system maintenance, communication with Animal Resource Facility and veterinary staff, supply ordering and inventory management, and assisting with troubleshooting.
• Caring for additional equipment within the Core and helping new users become familiar with facility procedures.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of the processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical computer software.
• Associates degree or 2 years of higher education.
• 1 year lab experience.

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and motivated part-time staff member to manage the daily operations of the Zebrafish Core Facility at Creighton University. This position is vital to ensuring system health, animal welfare oversight, quarantine practices, and regulatory compliance. Comprehensive training will be provided and immediate full coverage is not expected.
