Research Technician (Clinical Study & Analysis)
About the role
We are seeking a Research Technician to directly support patient data collection for the development of BrAInDetect, a speech-based AI detection tool for neurological disease. Neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and brain tumours are difficult to detect early, as symptoms often overlap with more common conditions like migraine, depression, stress, or fatigue. Earlier detection could improve outcomes for these diseases.
BrAInDetect, developed by researchers at the University of Leeds, is a speech-based AI tool that analyses multiple features of raw audio from patients answering a curated set of questions to detect potential brain tumours. The project aims to expand datasets for brain tumour and healthy volunteer groups, as well as collect data from symptomatic patients without proven neurological disease and those with neurodegenerative diseases.
