Research Technician

Responsibilities

• Execute research projects using standard techniques in molecular biology and biochemistry (protein expression and purification, gel electrophoresis, biochemical and biophysical assays)
• Maintain a detailed lab notebook documenting all experimental work
• Maintain inventory records and purchase supplies
• Supervise undergraduate work-study students
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• B.S. or B.A. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry or a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
• Experience with protein production and in vitro assays
• Demonstrate strong organization and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to maintain accurate records
• Demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse environment and ability to build effective collaborative relationships
