About the role

As a Research Technician at Solstice Pottsville, you will conduct experiments, collect data, and maintain lab equipment to ensure accurate research findings that drive innovation and new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and execute process development trials on resin pelletizing, film extrusion, and film slitting lines
  • Perform tests on films and resins
  • Record and report trial process data
  • Support R&D efforts by maintaining inventory records, preparing and shipping samples, and creating purchase requisitions
  • Conduct experiments and tests under the guidance of engineers and scientists
  • Collect and analyze data and prepare reports on findings
  • Assist in the development and improvement of prototypes and products
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of extrusion equipment, including setup, running, and disassembly/cleaning
  • Work independently and closely with Technology Engineers, R&D group technicians, Operations, Quality, and the broader business and Technology teams
  • Travel approximately 10% of the time and provide occasional shift coverage (2nd or 3rd shifts) to support production trials

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of film extrusion with web handling experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong commitment to HSE policies and procedures

Skills

  • Detail-oriented with good communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions to accomplish multiple tasks safely
  • 6 Sigma certification a plus
  • Demonstrated ability in creative problem solving and troubleshooting

Pay

The annual base pay range for this position is $50,000–$72,000. The final offer will consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience and training, key skills, and market and business considerations.
