About the role
As a Research Technician at Solstice Pottsville, you will conduct experiments, collect data, and maintain lab equipment to ensure accurate research findings that drive innovation and new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and execute process development trials on resin pelletizing, film extrusion, and film slitting lines
- Perform tests on films and resins
- Record and report trial process data
- Support R&D efforts by maintaining inventory records, preparing and shipping samples, and creating purchase requisitions
- Conduct experiments and tests under the guidance of engineers and scientists
- Collect and analyze data and prepare reports on findings
- Assist in the development and improvement of prototypes and products
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Maintain a basic knowledge of extrusion equipment, including setup, running, and disassembly/cleaning
- Work independently and closely with Technology Engineers, R&D group technicians, Operations, Quality, and the broader business and Technology teams
- Travel approximately 10% of the time and provide occasional shift coverage (2nd or 3rd shifts) to support production trials
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of film extrusion with web handling experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong commitment to HSE policies and procedures
Skills
- Detail-oriented with good communication skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions to accomplish multiple tasks safely
- 6 Sigma certification a plus
- Demonstrated ability in creative problem solving and troubleshooting
Pay
The annual base pay range for this position is $50,000–$72,000. The final offer will consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience and training, key skills, and market and business considerations.
