Research Technician

Research$18/hrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with headings

for sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections with real specific content. We must not repeat job title as heading. Must not include Job ID etc. Remove boilerplate. Must preserve all substantive info. We need to parse the posting. Key info: - Job Category: University Staff - Employment Type: Terminal (Fixed Term) - Job Profile: Research Technician (but not to be used as heading) - Job Summary: description about Clinical Interviewer role. - Primary responsibilities: percentages: 85% data collection, 5% review data, 10% development. - Also "Key Job Responsibilities:" list: Inspects and maintains equipment, supplies, inventory, and facility spaces; Performs lab and/or field test materials and samples according to established research requirements and specifications; Performs lab or field tests; Reviews data to summarize results for presentations or reporting; May assist with literature reviews and/or report writing; Collects data and monitors test results according to established research requirements and specifications (duplicate of earlier). So we need to combine. - Department: School of Education / Kinesiology - Compensation: $18.00 (presumably hourly) - Required Qualifications: list bullet points. - Preferred Qualifications: list bullet points. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field minimum - Schedule: This is an hourly position, with roughly 20h/wk anticipated to be allocated to each of the two projects (up to 40h/wk total). So schedule info: 20-40 hours per week. - Benefits: Not mentioned explicitly. No benefits info. So we should not create Benefits section. - Pay: we have compensation $18.00 hourly. So we can include Pay section with that. - Schedule: we have schedule info. - About the role: could be Job Summary. - Responsibilities: combine primary responsibilities and key job responsibilities. - Requirements: maybe Required Qualifications. - Qualifications: maybe Preferred Qualifications? Or Education? The spec says use headings for Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to decide mapping. We have Required Qualifications, Preferred Qualifications, Education. Could treat Required Qualifications as Requirements, Preferred Qualifications as Qualifications, Education maybe as Qualifications as well or separate? But we should not create thin sections. Perhaps combine Education into Qualifications. Skills: maybe from Required Qualifications: interpersonal and verbal communication skills, ability to follow protocols, etc. Could extract skills. But we must not invent content. We can create Skills section if there is explicit skill list. The posting includes: "Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with research participants." That's a skill. Also "Ability to follow standardized research protocols and procedures accurately and consistently." That's also a skill. Also "Ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team." That's a skill. Also "Experience working in team environments." That's experience not skill. But we can list skills. We must preserve all substantive info; we can rephrase but not invent. We can put skills as list. We need to avoid filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present. We must not include boilerplate like EEO etc. Remove all that. We must not include application instructions, contact info? The spec says remove application instructions. Contact Information maybe considered part of posting but not required? It says remove application instructions. Contact info maybe not application instructions but could be considered metadata; but we can drop it to keep concise. However we need to preserve all substantive information; contact info is substantive? Might be considered not essential for job description but still part of posting. The spec says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. Contact info is not explicitly excluded, but could be considered part of application instructions? It says "Contact Information: Dr. Jacob Meyer Jdmeyer3@wisc.edu". That's not application instruction but could be kept. However spec says "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." Might be okay to include contact info as a short paragraph under About the role? But we have no heading for contact. Could add a

with contact. But we need to output only HTML fragment; we can include

for prose. Let's decide sections: - About the role: use Job Summary paragraph. - Responsibilities: combine primary responsibilities percentages and key job responsibilities list. - Requirements: Required Qualifications list. - Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications list plus Education. - Skills: list of skills extracted from Required Qualifications (interpersonal communication, team collaboration, protocol following). - Pay: compensation $18.00 per hour. - Schedule: 20-40 hours per week (approx 20h/wk per project, up to 40h/wk total). We should not include Benefits section as none. We must not repeat job title as heading. We must not include Job ID etc. We must not include duplicated lines. We need to ensure we preserve all substantive info: Let's list all substantive info from posting: - Job Category: University Staff - Employment Type: Terminal (Fixed Term) - Job Profile: Research Technician (maybe not needed) - Job Summary: The Wellbeing and Exercise Laboratory, led by Dr. Jacob Meyer (Kinesiology), PhD, in conjunction with Dr. Simon Goldberg (Counseling Psychology), is recruiting a Clinical Interviewer to perform structured clinical interviews that include assessment of psychopathology and determination of current symptoms across various disorders. The Interviewer will provide assessments for participants using a structured clinical interview for diagnosing mental health disorders as part of NIH-funded studies on exercise and psychotherapy. The clinical interviewer will perform structured interviews across two NIH-funded intervention projects focused on major depressive disorder. This is an hourly position, with roughly 20h/wk. anticipated to be allocated to each of the two projects (up to 40h/wk. total). Training in specific assessments will be provided during the initial phase of employment prior to engaging in research visits. Clinical supervision will be provided by Dr. Goldberg. - Primary responsibilities percentages: 85% - Collects data and monitors test results according to established research requirements and specifications; 5% - Reviews data to summarize results for presentations or reporting; attending clinical supervision sessions with senior psychologist; 10% - Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials. - This is a terminal appointment with anticipated start date Nov 9, 2026, end date Nov 8, 2028. Appointment between 75% and 100% FTE based on programmatic needs and available funding. Expected to end Nov 8, 2028, no expectation of continued employment beyond that date. - Key Job Responsibilities list (multiple items): * Inspects and maintains equipment, supplies, inventory, and facility spaces * Performs lab and/or field test materials and samples according to established research requirements and specifications. * Performs lab or field tests * Reviews data to summarize results for presentations or reporting * May assist with literature reviews and/or report writing * Collects data and monitors test results according to established research requirements and specifications (duplicate) - Department: School of Education / Kinesiology - Compensation: $18.00 - Required Qualifications: * Experience working in team environments. * Experience in human subjects research. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team. * Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with research participants. * Ability to follow standardized research protocols and procedures accurately and consistently. - Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in conducting psychological assessment and mental health diagnosis. * Experience with conducting clinical interviews (e.g., SCID, MINI, HAMD). * Experience working with research participants experiencing mental health concerns. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field minimum - How to Apply etc (remove) - Contact Information: Dr. Jacob Meyer Jdmeyer3@wisc.edu - Institutional Statement on Diversity etc (remove as boilerplate EEO) - Additional legal stuff (remove) We need to preserve all substantive info; we can include contact info as a paragraph. We need to avoid duplication: The responsibility list includes duplicate "Collects data and monitors test results..." appears both in primary responsibilities and key job responsibilities; we should include only once. We need to include the terminal appointment dates and FTE range. Where to put that? Could be in About the role or Responsibilities? Probably About the role includes summary; we can add a paragraph about appointment term. We need to ensure we don't create thin sections. Let's plan:

About the role

... job summary plus appointment details (terminal appointment, start/end dates, FTE range, department).

Responsibilities

  • Collects data and monitors test results according to established research requirements and specifications (85% of time)
  • Reviews data to summarize results for presentations or reporting and attends clinical supervision sessions with senior psychologist (5% of time)
  • Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials (10% of time)
  • Inspects and maintains equipment, supplies, inventory, and facility spaces
  • Performs lab and/or field test materials and samples according to established research requirements and specifications
  • Performs lab or field tests
  • May assist with literature reviews and/or report writing
But we already have data collection in first item; we could keep that. We need to avoid duplication; we have data collection already. We could combine.

Requirements

  • Experience working in team environments
  • Experience in human subjects research
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact professionally and sensitively with research participants
  • Ability to follow standardized research protocols and procedures accurately and consistently

Qualifications

  • Experience conducting psychological assessment and mental health diagnosis
  • Experience conducting clinical interviews (e.g., SCID, MINI, HAMD)
  • Experience working with research participants experiencing mental health concerns
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field (minimum)

Skills

  • Interpersonal and verbal communication
  • Team collaboration
  • Following standardized research protocols
But skills may be redundant with requirements; but we can keep. Alternatively we could omit Skills section and put those skills in Requirements. But spec allows Skills heading; we can include if we have content. We need to avoid thin sections; Skills with three items is okay. Pay:

Pay

$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

Schedule

Approximately 20 hours per week per project, up to 40 hours per week total.

We might also include contact info as a

after sections. We must not include any markdown fences. Now check we haven't missed any substantive info: Job Category, Employment Type, Job Profile maybe not needed; but we could include them in About the role as metadata. The spec says do not put Job ID/requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short

or drop it. So we can include Job Category, Employment Type, Job Profile in a short paragraph. We should also include that training will be provided, clinical supervision by Dr. Goldberg. That's substantive; we can include in About the role. Let's craft About the role paragraph: "The Wellbeing and Exercise Laboratory, led by Dr. Jacob Meyer (Kinesiology), PhD, in conjunction with Dr. Simon Goldberg (Counseling Psychology), is recruiting a Clinical Interviewer
