About the role
The SAGE WISE project is seeking bilingual research technicians to advance the scientific aims of a recently funded NIH five-year project, which may include a combination of responsibilities related to human research.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment, screening, enrollment, data collection on-site at a school-based setting, and in the community with English and Spanish speakers.
- Retention efforts, assistance with developing project materials, reports, and publications.
- Translation and interpretation from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English.
- Participating in implementing garden-based curriculum activities.
- Working directly with a predominantly Spanish-speaking population.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and two-years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Qualifications
- Evidence of being able to speak, write, and read in Spanish/English (bilingual).
- Experience in working in the community with culturally diverse groups of people.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and techniques of research recruitment, enrollment, and participant confidentiality.
- Demonstrated knowledge of research methods, data collection, data entry, data proofing, and analyses.
- Experience in performing in a professional manner and in collaboration with a variety of individuals.
- Experience working with Pre-school/Head Start school systems.
- Experience working with diverse Pre-school/Head Start student populations, including first-generation and low-income.
- Experience recruiting for research studies.
- Experience in implementing physically active interventions.
- Experience providing training.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
- Experience prioritizing workload.
- Evidence of being certified in child CPR/first aid.

Schedule
Frequent lifting and transporting 25 pounds (moderate)Work in a school or community setting.Standing for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
