Job Summary
Affords support to research operations by executing daily tasks, overseeing resource allocation for research studies, adhering to regulatory standards, and facilitating communication between teams.
Possessing the Role
- Conducts research surveys, focus groups, qualitative interviews, or other data-gathering activities for moderately complex projects.
- Trains colleagues on project support activities such as data collection, informed consent administration, and procedural execution.
- Prepares open-ended/qualitative data for analysis and builds analytical datasets.
- Prepares data reports and identifies data quality issues.
- Performs complex tasks related to participant recruitment, enrollment, consent, and follow-up.
- Answers participant questions regarding basic and/or complex studies and escalates issues if necessary.
Developing Research Materials and Procedures
- Drafts study materials (recruitment, data collection, retention) in various formats including online.
Documentation and Reporting
- Assists in the development of tools, systems, and forms for project tracking and documentation.
- Documents study progress and escalates issues to project managers or investigators.
Supporting Research Operations
- Implements day-to-day operations of projects.
- Maintains resources for research studies.
- Contributes to and/or assists in managing project budgets.
- Contributes to the development of grant proposals and IRB protocols, amendments, and continuing reviews.
- Maintains compliance with federal and local regulations, standard operating procedures, and IRB-approved protocols.
- Maintains compliance for handling research data.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Social or Behavioral Sciences, Health Services, Statistics, or Health Economics, or related field AND minimum two (2) years of experience in health research, public health, laboratory or social science research setting, epidemiology, social or behavioral sciences, health services or a directly related field OR
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in health research, public health, laboratory or social science research setting, epidemiology, social or behavioral sciences, health services or a directly related field.
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Social or Behavioral Sciences, Health Services, Statistics, or Health Economics, or related field preferred.
