About the Role

This position will require performing in vivo experiments designed to support the translation of tumor immunotherapies from the bench to the clinic. The successful applicant will assist in establishing and evaluating leukemic and solid tumor models for testing adoptively transferred genetically engineered T cells for treatment of cancer. All animal work is conducted under approved IACUC protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform animal procedures such as intravenous injections, intraperitoneal injections, retro-orbital bleedings, tumor measurements, and luminescence imaging.
  • Interface with research personnel to ensure documentation of animal procedures and health.
  • Process animal organs and blood.
  • Perform cell culture.
  • Handle general laboratory duties such as receiving, recording, ordering, and maintaining animal supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain animal health in coordination with animal facility staff.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Director of the Stem Cell Xenograft Core.
  • Work with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to track survival and clinical conditions of the animals.
  • Provide general support to the laboratory, including lab maintenance, ordering, and inventory record-keeping.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field and 3 to 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience with in vivo animal procedures, including intravenous injections and blood sampling.
  • Tumor modeling experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively within established study protocols and communicate clearly with study directors and colleagues.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment.

This position is contingent upon grant funding.

Pay

$58,506.00 - $67,794.79 Annual Rate. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level.
