Job Description and Duties
The Research Scientist Staff (RS Staff) supports CDPH's mission by conducting scientific research, collecting data, and disseminating findings related to healthcare facility quality and disparities among vulnerable populations. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading scientific research projects
- Capturing and analyzing data
- Creating and maintaining databases
- Developing and improving quality assurance processes
The RS Staff works under the supervision of the Demographics Research Section Supervisor (RSS I) and may be eligible for telework, subject to departmental policies and regulations.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must hold a Master’s Degree and possess the following:
- Experience in scientific research and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage and analyze large datasets
- Knowledge of healthcare quality standards and regulations
Incumbents appointed to Range B with a Master’s Degree will receive an educational pay differential of 2% of their monthly base pay.
Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $8,327.00 - $10,779.00 per month, with the starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience. The CDPH is an E-Verify employer and requires all employees to be California residents.
Schedule and Location
This position is located in Sacramento County and may be eligible for telework. The headquarters office location is specified in the attached duty statement. Commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee, and reimbursement for travel is subject to regulations and contract provisions.
