Research Scientist, Neuropsychologist
About the role
This position is located in the lab of Dr. Monica Rivera Mindt within the Dept. of Psychology at Fordham University, dedicated to:
- Increasing the engagement of heterogenous populations in cognitive aging and dementia research;
- Investigating brain health inequities and related mechanisms in cognitive aging and dementia;
- Cultivating a highly skilled, culturally competent workforce to conduct research with heterogenous populations.
We are excited to bring on an energetic and skilled neuropsychologist (bilingual English/Spanish preferred) to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Contributes to the broader scientific and operational aspects of this research program and plays an integral role in supporting the PI and team in manuscript and grant writing. Leads efforts to identify and address critical scientific questions in cultural neuroscience, cultural neuropsychology, inclusion science, brain health equity, and related areas of cognitive aging and dementia science. Contributes to our research training programs and data collection. Reviews study-related documents and supports the PI on grant-related deliverables. Organizes their findings into presentations for both lay and scientific audiences, generates manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and participates in grant writing.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology or related field from an accredited program with a specialization and a minimum of two years of postdoctoral fellowship training specifically in Clinical Neuropsychology.
- Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Extensive experience conducting neuropsychological assessments in a clinical and research setting.
- Experience providing neuropsychological assessment training and supervision to students and/or psychometrists.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking.
- Authorization to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) that is issued by the PSYPACT Commission.
- Prior experience with scientific writing, advanced statistical data analyses, and mentoring of research personnel.
- Prior experience being part of an academic research group and familiarity with research on diverse populations and community-engaged research methodology.
