Target hiring range for this position is between $51,350 - $73,890. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

About the Role

Provides management for an education, research, and/or operations program/project, recommending goals, assessing feasibility and ongoing performance, and providing day-to-day oversight of administrative and operational functions. This position provides administrative support to the leadership, planning, and evaluation activities of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. It plays a key role in ensuring the center is aligned with the goals and priorities set by leadership and supports general processes used to obtain effective internal and external advice, set priorities, make decisions, and define and evaluate Center strategic plans and activities. This includes meeting scheduling and administration, follow-through on priorities set at meetings, and reporting of relevant cancer center data.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation: Observes program sessions and interacts with participants to gain consumer insight, strengthen program knowledge, and optimize client satisfaction. Coordinates the collection, analysis, and reporting of required information for surveys, review documents, and public information documents.
  • Events: Coordinates programming, educational workshops, meetings, and events, including speakers and agendas. Develops plans and arranges meetings, workshops, and events designed to exchange information, promote research objectives, and build internal and external relationships. Ensures event details such as communication, venues, presenters, travel arrangements, materials, refreshments, and technology are arranged and completed in a timely manner.
  • Grants & Contracts: Prepares proposals and provides administrative guidance for grant preparations, including budgets and justifications.
  • Program Development: Identifies and obtains external expertise as needed and works with content experts for current and new programs. Reviews programs/projects to increase efficiencies and support growth.
  • Strategic Planning: Administers and maintains existing strategic plans. Participates with senior staff in the conceptualization, development, and presentation of materials used in functional operations.
  • Miscellaneous: Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using office computer programs, including virtual meeting platforms.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Experience in academia and/or cancer research.

Skills

  • Preferred: Experience in meeting and strategic planning.
