General Summary

Under general direction, coordinates the day-to-day administration of assigned clinical research studies requiring significant independent clinical judgment and assessment in utilizing the research instruments. Depending on the study, independently recruits, screens, and enrolls study subjects, schedules subjects for visits, administers the research instruments, leads groups or provides training/education, and ensures that subjects complete all requirements for the study(ies).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • General knowledge of psychopathology of persons with serious mental illness - acquired post-graduate experience in a research coordinator, research assistant, or equivalent position
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Independent analytical ability to accurately utilize study rating scales and research instruments, design or revise research forms, and appropriately identify concerns to bring to the attention of the study principal
  • Interpersonal skills to actively recruit study subjects, interact effectively with chronically mentally ill patients and program staff of Sheppard Pratt and external programs, and direct the work of non-exempt research staff
  • The ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail in performing research tasks and frequently produce a high level of mental/visual fatigue

Pay

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
