About the role
The Department of Environmental Sciences, College of Agriculture, Tennessee State University, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on a project partly funded by NASA (data Science) and USDA (soil contaminant).
Responsibilities
- Work on the fate of soil contaminants and data science applications to assess the risks to the environment.
- Conduct experiments in the laboratory, field, and computer simulations.
- Design and conduct wet chemical and spectroscopic experiments involving inorganic and organic soil contaminants.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Stationed at TSU main campus and involve research activities at other collaborative institutions as needed.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. degree in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Biological Science or related disciplines.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in designing and conducting wet chemical and spectroscopic experiments involving inorganic and organic soil contaminants.
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
