Responsibilities

  • Experimental Tasks Include Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize small molecules using modern synthetic organic chemistry techniques;
  • Perform compound purification and characterization using HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, and related analytical methods;
  • Develop and execute biochemical and biophysical assays to evaluate compound activity and target engagement;
  • Perform biophysical binding studies, including Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), to characterize molecular interactions;
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to support medicinal chemistry and drug discovery efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medicinal Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline;
  • Minimum of 2 years of laboratory research experience in an academic, government, or industrial research setting;
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing the following techniques:
    • Organic synthesis;
    • Reaction optimization;
    • Compound purification by chromatography;
    • HPLC;
    • LC-MS;
    • NMR spectroscopy;
    • Biological assays;
    • Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR);
    • UV/Vis spectrophotometry;
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with one or more of the following software packages:
    • GraphPad Prism;
    • ChemDraw;
    • MestReNova;
    • Microsoft Office;
    • Scientific data management software.
