Responsibilities
- Experimental Tasks Include Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize small molecules using modern synthetic organic chemistry techniques;
- Perform compound purification and characterization using HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, and related analytical methods;
- Develop and execute biochemical and biophysical assays to evaluate compound activity and target engagement;
- Perform biophysical binding studies, including Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), to characterize molecular interactions;
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to support medicinal chemistry and drug discovery efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medicinal Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline;
- Minimum of 2 years of laboratory research experience in an academic, government, or industrial research setting;
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing the following techniques:
- Organic synthesis;
- Reaction optimization;
- Compound purification by chromatography;
- HPLC;
- LC-MS;
- NMR spectroscopy;
- Biological assays;
- Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR);
- UV/Vis spectrophotometry;
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience with one or more of the following software packages:
- GraphPad Prism;
- ChemDraw;
- MestReNova;
- Microsoft Office;
- Scientific data management software.
