About the role

The laboratory of Agnieszka Lukaszewicz, in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan Medical School, is seeking a highly motivated senior research laboratory technician. The laboratory studies germline de novo mutations, with a focus on:

  • Spectrum of de novo structural and copy number variants at meiotic DNA double-strand breaks in mice and humans
  • Determining molecular mechanisms driving de novo mutations in meiosis
  • Determining the impact of structural variation at recombination hotspots on genome stability

This is an excellent position for a recent college graduate interested in gaining a few years of research experience before applying to graduate school. The position offers regular and direct hands-on training from a PI to help determine interest in pursuing a graduate degree. The role is heavily focused on laboratory research, with a smaller amount of effort devoted to lab management for laboratory support and maintenance.
