About the role

The Senior Lab Technician will prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance to SGS' analytical SOPs. Work independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met. Always follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance to SGS' analytical SOPs.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met.
• Follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform sample preparation and basic analyses on samples of different complexity (routine, moderate complexity and complex) according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshoot applicable laboratory instruments / equipment.
• Supports the development and validation of analytical methods, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other operating, safety and quality documents for method development, transfer, and validation studies.
• Provide technical training, advice, and support to new and cross-training technicians.
• Aid in investigation and preparation of responses to client inquiries and CARs.
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Manage multiple tasks as assigned.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (Required)
• 5+ years of relevant experience in sample prep laboratories (Required)
• Associates Degree in a Chemistry or similar scientific discipline (Preferred)
