Research Lab Operations Manager

About the role

The General Hospital Corporation Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance its mission of patient care, research, teaching, and community service. This position performs a variety of research and research administration activities in direct support of the department's research faculty and programs, manages the overall functioning of the research operation, and serves as a front‑line resource for researchers, acting as a liaison to internal administrative units and external sponsors on matters relating to research programs. The role does not involve patient care. Successful candidates will join the internationally renowned Ragon Institute in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA, and the DeKosky Laboratory for Immune Engineering, working in a highly collaborative, state‑of‑the‑art environment with access to MIT campus resources and contributing to cutting‑edge drug development and precision molecular therapeutics.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of all lab supply and equipment, purchasing and maintenance
• Coordinates all regulatory and compliance activities
• Trains staff in specialized lab techniques
• Assists with subject scheduling
• Provides input on strategy based on knowledge of industry and trends
• Applies project management techniques to ensure development initiatives stay on track
• Contributes to scientific literature and may present data at meetings
• Carries out independent research projects involving execution of highly sophisticated techniques

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's degree preferred. Experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Experience: 3‑5 years of research experience in a laboratory setting.

Pay

Pay range: $63,252.80 – $102,596.00 per year (Grade 7).

Schedule

Onsite position at 600 Main Street; regular full‑time schedule of 40 hours per week, day shift.
