Job Summary

Who We Are:

The College of Liberal Arts is seeking a Research Administration Specialist to join the Governance and Responsible AI Lab (GRAIL).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement policies, procedures, and standards for research operations and research staffing.
  • Ensure research compliance practices and procedures are followed.
  • Verify quality of research data.
  • Recommend new research ideas and protocols; conduct literature searches, grant opportunities, and draft grant proposal documents.
  • Aid with partnership building, fundraising initiatives, and grant preparation.
  • Maintain materials, software, data, inventory, control, and vendor management.
  • Oversee the maintenance of GRAIL equipment, software, websites, and social media.
  • Manage event, visitor logistics; and maintain center communications, website, and social media presence.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science field; three years of experience in administrative coordination, research support, or academic operations.
  • Skills Needed: Strong organizational and leadership skills; professional communication skills with experience using digital tools; experience planning and managing events and communications; use of AI applications for research; R, Python, or similar statistical software; web editing.

What is Helpful:

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Four or more years of experience in administrative coordination, research support, or academic operations.

Additional Information:

  • This is a limited term duration position of 3 years with an estimated end date of May 31, 2029. Continuation dependent on funding.

  • Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)
