Research Intern
Position Summary
This Endeavor Health Summer Research Internship offers current undergraduates, including those transitioning to Medical School, the opportunity to gain real-world research experience.
Mentorship
You will be primarily mentored by Dr. Anthony Solomonides, with additional supervision by Dr. Susan Fisher, Dr. Sally Jensen, and Ms Shannah Mwanda, all at the Health Outcomes Research Collaborative (HRC), Research Institute, Endeavor Health. You will also likely interact with some clinical researchers and other members of the Health Outcomes Research Collaborative team.
Main Goal
Prepare a private foundation funding proposal to study Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in the context of environmental and social determinants of health. This will involve reading recent literature on the subject, analysis of preliminary data to make the case, and contributing to the text of the application.
What you will do
- Participate in research projects with a focus on pulmonary health.
- Attend and participate in research team meetings.
- Perform literature surveys preparatory to research proposals.
- Analyze de-identified data.
- Contribute to writing research reports such as abstracts or manuscripts.
What You Will Need
- High School Diploma Required.
Pay
The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
