Research Governance Manager
About the role
The Research Governance Manager will sit within the Research Operations Risk and Compliance function and will work with the Research Governance and Compliance Manager to develop and implement the Clinical Research Governance framework.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with operational leads, clinical trials unit, CIs and PIs, and PGRs to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Lead on Sponsor activity for clinical trials of investigational medicinal products and clinical investigations of medical devices, including providing recommendations to and acting on behalf of the Research Governance and Compliance Manager and the Head of Research Integrity, Governance and Compliance.
- Support the Research Governance and Compliance Manager with adherence to Clinical Trials legislation and other applicable regulations.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance, and training on all matters relating to research governance and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate and manage the development, implementation, and awareness raising of clinical research governance policies and procedures to ensure the University's compliance.
- Lead on identifying and implementing best practice in their area to ensure that the service continues to evolve in line with the external academic research landscape.
- Ensure effective stakeholder management to maintain active engagement and compliance across the research community.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have experience in providing specialist advice, guidance, and training on all matters relating to research governance and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and experience in research governance and regulatory compliance.
Skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.
Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary range of £46,049 to £58,225 per annum pro-rata, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule
The role is full-time (36.25 hours per week).
