The LSU AgCenter focuses on research, extension, and teaching to benefit Louisiana's citizens. The Doyle Chambers Central Research Station is hiring a Research Farm Specialist 2.

Job Duties
- Sheep and goat care/Pasture maintenance – Perform routine livestock care, check health, treat sick or crippled animals, mix and administer feed, transport animals for sale and research, assist with breeding, manage pregnant ewes and does.
- Operated farm equipment – Independently operate aging tractors and implements for pasture fertilization and planting, mixing and applying chemicals, cutting and maintaining pasture grasses and plants.
- General duties – Assist with research by collecting data, administering supplements and drugs, adjusting barns and pastures to fit research project designs, inspect and maintain plumbing, carpentry, fencing, provide building and grounds maintenance, and varmit control.
- Specialty Care – Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance – Record and report necessary maintenance on sheep unit tractors and farm equipment.
- Oter duties as assigned.
Position-Specific Details
- Appointment Type: Non-Career Progression Group
- Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, M-F, with potential weekend work during harvest season
- Compensation: Salary determined based on qualifications and experience
- Location: Doyle Chambers Central Research Station, Baton Rouge, La.
- This position is not eligible for remote employment.
