Minimum Qualifications

• One year of experience in animal care, crop/shrub/plant care, or farm-related equipment/machinery operation.
• Six semester hours in an agricultural field.

Job Duties

• Operates complex farm machinery equipment such as tractors, lawnmowers, batwing rotary cutters, disk and cultipacker, hay cutters, hay rake, seed broadcaster, and equipment for chemical applications (30%).
• Maintains property and fences, including spraying fence line weeds, upkeeping hard and hotwire fences, repairing damaged gates or fences, building new enclosures, maintaining drainage ditches, mowing pastures and lawns around shops and buildings (30%).
• Makes minor adjustments and repairs to farm equipment, lawn mowers, ATV’s and tractors (20%).
• Aids with maintenance in shop areas, shade structures, and main building (10%).
• Performs other duties as assigned (10%).

Position-Specific Details

• Appointment Type: Non-Career Progression Group.
• Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Nights and weekends may be needed.
• Compensation: Salary determined based on qualifications and experience.
• Location: Reproductive Biology Center, St. Gabriel, La.
• Employment Status: Not eligible for remote employment.
