About the role
Develop new power electronics concepts, model, design, and test converters, and characterize devices for power generation, transmission, and distribution applications.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of new power technologies and capabilities within multidisciplinary teams.
- Innovate in the power electronics space and contribute to the transition of technologies from concept to product.
- Communicate results through reports and presentations, and stay current with industry trends.
- Support proposal efforts for business and government clients.
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with relevant experience, or Master’s with at least 2 years in power electronics and controls.
- 3+ years in power electronics research, circuit design, testing of power converters and devices, and controls development.
- Familiarity with DC grid concepts, energy storage, microgrids, and renewable integration is desirable.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to obtain security clearances.
- Willingness to work in Niskayuna, NY.
