About the role
We are seeking a Power Electronics Research Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced power electronics concepts and systems. You will participate in modeling, simulation, design, and testing of power converters, devices, and EMI filters for power generation, transmission, and distribution applications.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop new power technologies
- Innovate in power electronics solutions
- Communicate results through reports and presentations
- Connect the organization to industry trends
- Support proposal efforts for businesses and government agencies
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with relevant experience, or Master’s with at least 2 years of experience
- 3+ years in power electronics research, design, and testing of circuits, controls, and devices
- Familiarity with DC grid concepts, energy storage, microgrids, and renewable integration is preferred
- U.S. work authorization
- Current or active Secret Clearance with ability to attain Top Secret clearance
- Willingness to work in Niskayuna, NY
This role involves access to U.S. export-controlled information and requires eligibility for security clearances.
